MIKE NOCK with MARTY ERLICH TO HEADLINE NAXOS JAZZ LABEL SHOWCASE

Mike Nock, pianist/composer extraordinaire and A&R Director for Naxos Jazz, will be in NYC to record in September. He'll also give a rare NYC performance with Marty Erlich at the SoHo Caviarteria, 310 West Broadway, NY, NY; Saturday, September 16th. Many Naxos Jazz artists will also be performing that night, including Sarah Jane Cion, Donny McCaslin, Dave Phillips, Ron McClure, Gordon Brisker, Barbara Sfraga, and more. Reception: 5:30 - 6:30PM, performances: 7PM

A native Australian, Mike Nock lived and gigged in NY for 25 years with his own groups (including The Fourth Way) as well as with Coleman Hawkins, Yusef Lateef and Michael Brecker. He returned to Australia in the mid 80's, hosted his own series on TVNZ “Nock on Jazz" and in 1993 was the subject of a documentary made on his life and music. Current holder of a two year Australia Council Fellowship, he continues to maintain a busy international schedule as bandleader/composer.
