Michael Andrews
Appearing at Jazz Bridge in Media! at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Delaware County West Rose Tree Road in Media, PA—on October 17th is singer Michael Andrews. One show at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10, $5 for students, and are only available at the door. For info: 610-745-3011.

Jazz Bridge, a 501C public charity that assists area jazz and blues musicians in crisis, is sponsoring this event, the Jazz Bridge in Media! season opener.

Michael Andrews, one of the smoothest and most soulful bass/baritone balladeers on the scene, is often compared to the great Arthur Prysock. What they have in common are rarities in any type of music: an instantly identifiable sound, the ability to communicate, and to meaningfully convey just what the lyricist had in mind.

Andrews—who will be backed by keyboardist Adam Faulk, bassist Kenny Davis and saxophonist Victor North—is comfortable singing R&B, spirituals and show tunes, in addition to jazz. No matter what the style, Michael Andrews simply moves audiences.

He's sung with the east coast's top players, appeared in concert at venues in Atlantic City, Philadelphia and at Mohonk Mountain House in New York's Catskill Mountains, and has just recorded a justifiably acclaimed CD with James Witherite and The Zero Point Band.
