Jorge Canavati, host of the “Jazz de Mexico” radio show featured on 91.7FM KRTU Trinity University Radio in San Antonio has announced the Mexico City Jazz Tours project. An unprecedented and innovative culture and jazz tour of Mexico City, a top jazz center.

The tour is a three day and two-night visit to Mexico City which includes visiting two jazz venues. Visitors will have ample time to set up satellite tours and shopping during the day.

“This is very unique project designed for San Antonio jazz lovers.” Canavati said. “However, everyone from anywhere is welcome. You get to enjoy the incredible beauty of Mexico City by day and the sounds of Mexico City jazz by night. It promises to be quite an experience.” He continues, “This idea came due to calls I received from listeners asking when I would take them to Mexico City to listen to jazz. As with most of my ideas, a bulb lit while in the shower. I began to design the product, talked to hotels, airlines, clubs as well as with other components involved to launch this incredible cultural experience. It’s all about logistics, which is what I do for a living. This has never been done before. Not easy to accomplish but very exciting.” The maiden voyage is slated for Wednesday August 24 of this year. The product is an all-inclusive package. The project hs the full support of the Mexico City government.

“Jazz de Mexico” was conceived by Jorge Canavati and is the only radio show of its kind in the world.
