Bassist/Producer Melvin Gibbs announces Phree-dem Downloads, his weekly free music series.
Every Monday for the next 10 weeks Melvin will release a recording from his pool of projects which include collaborators such as keyboardist John Medeski, guitarist Jeff Parker, trumpeter Graham Haynes, singer Emilio Barreto, keyboardist Craig Taborn, guitarist Pete Cosey and others.
Rhythmic and electric, Melvin's music is as much for the body as it is for the mind.
The week one release is “Teo M" which features Graham Haynes on trumpet and Craig Taborn on synthesizer. Melvin describes the track as “live and evil with a touch of Macero."
