NEW YORK, NY – On November 10th, Singer/Songwriter Marcus Goldhaber will celebrate the release of his new album, Take Me Anywhere, with an Official CD Release Party. This concert/event is being held at Catch 22, in anticipation of the official release of Take Me Anywhere on November 25th, 2008.

Marcus comes to Catch 22 after an exciting out-of-town release at Les Zygomates in Boston and a deliciously indulgent NYC pre-release event at the Jo Malone Flagship Store in New York. For his Catch-22 debut, Marcus will host a classy and fun-filled evening complete with two live performances, chocolate delicacies by Holisitc Living Now, Cognac & Champagne tastings and complimentary Duvel Belgian Ale all night long. Additional sponsors include: Tablet Hotels, Hot House Magazine, Origins, and JTE Spirits.

The setting: Catch-22, is a unique, 1940’s-inspired 2 story lounge/saloon that perfectly complements Marcus’ smooth sound. Filled with World War II memorabilia, including army helmets, manual cash registers, framed war stories, an antique foosball table, and a wall-sized slate chalk board, the items connote a very different time that are reflected in some of the traditional jazz standards that Marcus sings.

Much of the excitement surrounding this release is because Marcus’ new record incorporates original material (for the first time ever) as well as a selection of his favorite jazz standards that already have critics calling the album “as good as it gets” (Midwest Record).

Take Me Anywhere is the 2nd album to be released on Marcus’ label, Fallen Apple Records, and it will serve as a perfect successor to his wildly popular debut CD, The Moment After. Here, Marcus will be introduced as a songwriter with 7 original songs accompanied by 10 exciting and fresh arrangements of tasty standards such as “No Moon At All,” “I Fall In Love Too Easily,” “A Lovely Way To Spend An Evening,” and “Look For The Silver Lining.”

When asked about his newly discovered talent for original material, Marcus replied, “After the first record, people began asking for original material, and though I had many melodies & lyrics in my mind, I lacked the confidence to actually write a song. Then one sleepless night, around 2am, I went over to the piano, placed my fingers on the keys and just started singing along. About an hour later, ‘Take Me’ was written.”

Catch-22 is located at 4 West 22nd Street (between 5th & 6th Avenues) in New York. To RSVP, please contact [email protected] or 646.827.9594.

Marcus will be joined by The Jon Davis Trio, featuring Martin Wind (bass) and Sylvia Cuenca (drums).
