Marcus Goldhaber is a welcome addition to the music world with a smooth and intimate approach to straight-ahead Jazz. Marcus sings with comfortable ease and though his sound has been compared to that of John Pizzarelli, Chet Baker and a young Frank Sinatra, he definitely has a unique style that is rooted in the beauty of a simple melody.

Growing up, Marcus was introduced to the wonderful music of Harold Arlen, Johnny Mercer, Sammy Cahn, Peggy Lee and many others at a very young age. His mother was always playing songs from this genre that she had learned as a child on their 1928 Ivers & Pond upright piano and passing them on as they were once passed on to her. This is still a common practice.

In 2000, he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from SUNY Fredonia and then went directly to NYC, where he began working as an actor. After the shows, he would often sit in on various jam sessions around town. After a successful start to his career in the theatre with several Off-Broadway productions, appearances on CBS's Guiding Light and a solid amount of regional work, he decided to take a more focused approach towards his music career.

Based in NYC, Marcus has studied with Mark Murphy, Norma Garbo and Russ Kassoff. He has also had the opportunity to performed with several Jazz greats such as James Weidman, Eric Frazier, Lou Columbo, Eric Lewis, Peter Hand and Lafayette Harris.

Since June of 2005, he has played at many clubs in NYC, including: The Carnegie Club, Creole, The Lenox Lounge, Smoke, Cleopatra's Needle, The Ritz Carlton, Crobar, Vertigo, and the illustrious Friar's Club, of which he is a proud member.

Marcus has given outdoor concerts at NYC's Worldwide Plaza and in Central Park and has most recently played at the AOL Time Warner Center. For the past year he has maintained residency in the jazz lounge at Penang (Upper West Side) on Sunday nights. Recently, Marcus spent the month of August in Upstate NY, singing a tribute to the music of Tony Bennett to sold out crowds.

On The Moment After, Marcus teams up with piano great Jon Davis (who toured with Jaco Pastorius, Joe Henderson), Paul Gabrielson on bass (Mingus Big Band and Kingston Trio), Kyle Struve on drums (Frank Lacey, Walter Blanding), and Will Terrill also on drums (Benny Golson, recorded with Betty Carter).

The Moment After was produced on his own label: FALLEN APPLE RECORDS.
