TOUR STARTS TONIGHT IN THE LOFT AT UCSD
Marco Benevento is wrapping 2011, as has become tradition, by visiting the West Coast for a nine date tour in December that starts tonight at UCSD's The Loft in San Diego. The pianist will have a new limited pressing 7-inch single available at these shows, as well.
Side A is a full on piano rock barn-burner called “Escape Horse" with none other than Mike Gordon on bass and Matt Chamberlain on drums (the first time these two have ever been on the same recording together as a rhythm section). Side B is a lilting tarantella-like number called “Fireworks."
Benevento's label The Royal Potato Family will be releasing the tracks later this month directly through its website, but for now the merch table at left coast shows is the only place where copies can be found.
After his own tour, Benevento joins Skerik, Mike Dillon and Stanton Moore in his other band Garage a Trois for a five show Colorado run. He then heads back to the East Coast to finish out the year with a headline post-Phish MSG show on Thursday, December 29 at The Highline Ballroom in New York City.
