Concerts Friday Nov. 15th and Saturday Nov. 16th, 2013, will feature the music from Herbie Hancock's 1965 Blue Note Album, Maiden Voyage

Performances are at Twins Jazz (1344 U Street NW Washington, D.C 20009) Shows are at 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Admission is $20. Make reservations from twinsjazz.com

A concept album relating to the sea and its inhabitants, Maiden Voyage became one of the most important jazz albums of the last century. Many of its musicians became modern jazz legends.

The band includes award-winning, internationally-recognized saxophonist Jeff Antoniuk, pianist Allyn Johnson, bassist Mike Pope, trumpeter Kenny Rittenhouse, drummer Todd Harrison . All are seasoned and highly-regarded performers and jazz educators.

A related jazz workshop for adults and older teens, focusing on the Maiden Voyage album, will be held Saturday Nov. 16th from 1pm to 5pm at Saint Mark Presbyterian Church, 10701 Old Georgetown Road, Rockville, MD 20852. For details and registration call 410-295-6691 or visit: indepthjazz.com
