To help cap off what will surely be another successful edition of the TD Canada Trust Toronto Jazz Festival, Live@Courthouse is pleased to announce a series of concerts featuring Mina Agossi, Cowboy Junkies, Bryan Lee and Bill Frisell coming this July!

The TD Canada Trust Toronto Jazz Festival officially wraps things up on Canada Day, July 1, but in the first of four post-festival concerts, Live@Courthouse presents French Beninese singer, Mina Agossi on Monday, July 2. To describe Agossi's style or voice, it seems almost impossible. In a class of its own, the notes, sounds and range seem to flow effortlessly. Agossi's live performances consist of everything from Jimi Hendrix to Cole Porter to her own originals.

On Tuesday, July 3 the Cowboy Junkies return to the spotlight with their latest release At The End of Paths Taken. After 20 years, the Cowboy Junkies remain one of the few bands that are still together with its original members. Their melancholic mixture of blues, country, folk, rock and jazz styles have earned them a cult like status among their fans. The Trinity Session, the Cowboy Junkies breakout release, was one of the most revered discs in the 1980's - the album was recorded with a single microphone at Toronto's Church of the Holy Trinity in one day. Singer, songwriter Ivy Mairi opens for the Cowboy Junkies performing music from her debut album, Well You.

The King of Bourbon Street, Bryan Lee plays the Courthouse on Thursday, July 5. A fixture on the New Orleans jazz scene, Lee held a steady gig at the Old Absinthe House in the heart of the French Quarter. For 14 years, Lee and his band, Jump Street Five played the popular bar five nights a week developing a huge following. With the recent release of Katrina Was Her Name, Lee brings his Chicago brand of blues back to Toronto for an exclusive one-night engagement.

Guitar virtuoso Bill Frisell has defied categorization over the years, lending credence to his versatility as a musician and innovator. Able to seamlessly travel back and forth between genres, Frisell is often regarded as one of the most sought after guitar voices. Though often labeled as a jazz guitarist, Frisell is one of the rare musicians able to link the musical connection between jazz standards, free improv music, folk, country and old time music. Frisell plays two shows at Live@Courthouse on Saturday, July 7 (7:30pm and 10:30pm).
