Kent, CT--Litchfield Jazz Camp (est. 1997) is a total jazz immersion where students ages 13 through adult learn and play in a non-competitive environment on the campus of Kent School in Kent, CT. Students rehearse in combos with others at their level 15 hours a week, study music theory, perform and jam, learn from guest artists and listen to the camp's elite faculty led by Music Director Don Braden. Litchfield Jazz Camp runs in one-to--four week sessions which began on July 11 and continue through August 6, leading right into the Litchfield Jazz Festival's 15th Anniversary weekend.

In addition to the daily class offerings, the camp provides unique opportunities, like their Jazz College Fair Night, which will be held, for the third year, on Wednesday, July 28th from 7--9 PM at Kent School's Mattison Auditorium. Representatives from some of the best college jazz programs in the country will sit on a panel, talk about their programs and engage students and their families. Then for the second half of the evening, students will be able to talk with the representative's one on one at their booths. The schools present will be Berklee College of Music, Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University, Eastman School of Music--University of Rochester, The Hartt School, Manhattan School of Music, New England Conservatory, New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, SUNY Purchase College, and Western Connecticut State University. Also represented will be two prep schools--Kent School and Lagond Music School.

The College Fair is open to Litchfield Jazz Camp students and member of the general public and their families who are interested in exploring top-notch college music programs. Located at the Mattison Auditorium at Kent School, One Macedonia Road (Route 341), Kent, CT 06757.
