Lionel Loueke & Richard Bona September 26-27, 7:30pm & 9:30pm The Allen Room Frederick P. Rose Hall, Home of Jazz at Lincoln Center Broadway at 60th Street

Guitarist/vocalist Lionel Loueke from Benin and bassist/vocalist Richard Bona from Cameroon create an unforgettable evening of the folkloric music of their homelands and contemporary jazz vocabulary.

Lionel Loueke is a versatile musician, having performed with Herbie Hancock and Terence Blanchard among others. Loueke is currently a member of Herbie Hancock’s band, and recorded on his GRAMMY®-winning Album of the Year, River. The New York Times refers to him as “a gentle virtuoso.”

Richard Bona is a multi-talented musician, having performed with Michael Brecker, Joni Mitchell and Chick Corea, to name a few. Billboard magazine said of Bona, “Richard Bona is the hottest electric bass player since Jaco Pastorius – and the first since that past master with the potential for solo stardom.”

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
