Bourbon, BBQ, and Blues. World class performers Linwood Taylor and Sol Roots join forces for an incredible night of blues, southern soul, funk, rock and more at Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club.

Come out for a Bourbon tasting, southern barbecue, and a special concert with Linwood Taylor and Sol Roots on Thursday May 28 at Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club in Bethesda MD.

“Linwood Taylor has one of the most highly respected names in the blues community with touring credits throughout the U.S. and European Blues circuits. Linwood’s style is in the vein of Muddy Waters, Albert King and Hendrix, while his resume includes appearances with Albert King, Joe Louis Walker, Skip Castro, Devon Allman and also appearing with Tommy Castro and Joe Louis Walker at the Rhythm & Blues Review in Washington, DC.”

On Tap Magazine says “he’s toured the world with some of the biggest names in funk and blues...He’s the fiery guitarist known as Sol, and his influences span the country, and the globe”. Whether Sol Roots is performing his unique blend of energetic rock, raw blues, or greasy funk- it’s all delivered with deep soul. Sol has shared the stage with acts such as Dumpstaphunk, Soulive, Jon Cleary, Booker T Jones, Eric Lindell, Shemekia Copeland, Walter Wolfman Washington, and more.

The fantastic rhythm section includes master bassist Steve Wolf (of Danny Gatton, Tom Principato, and more), and drummer extraordinaire Joe Wells (Tom Principato & more).

Also, join renowned bourbon expert and American legend John Vickers-Smith from 6pm - 7pm. Learn about the history of bourbon and the distilling process, as Vickers-Smith walks you through a tasting of 6 exceptional Kentucky Small Batch Bourbons. Dine from a menu that’ll include featured dishes infused bourbon! $25 for bourbon tasting (6pm-7pm) Payable at the tasting. No Cover Charge for the concert/ dance night. Doors open at 5:30pm.
