Bassist Reggie Workman joins a stellar line-up for “The Power of Drum: A Max Roach Celebration." The legendary bassist will perform with fellow Max Roach alums Billy Harper (Tenor Sax), Cecil Bridgewater and Jimmy Owens (Trumpets), James Spalding (Alto Sax) and Drummer Aaron Scott.



Also, scheduled to perform on this dynamic evening of poetry, choreography and bebop musings dedicated to the great jazz master are Poet Sonia Sanchez, Drummer Will Calhoun, and Percussionists Warren Smith and Eli Fontaine.



The evening, hosted by Gil Noble of ABC's “Like It Is," is sponsored by the Family Arts Festival in association with MW Productions. Admission is free and seating limited, so come early as The Power of Drum: A Max Roach Celebration promises to be a must-see event!
