Legend of the Blues: A Tribute to Robert Johnson Sept 16th in Fairfield

Fairfield Theatre Company in Fairfield, Connecticut is proud to present on StageOne, a landmark event: In honor of Delta Blues giant Robert Johnson, we have gathered the few remaining original practitioners of acoustic Delta blues to perform Saturday, September 16th, 2006.

91-year-old David “Honeyboy" Edwards, who has played traditional and unadulterated Mississippi Delta blues since he left his home in Shaw, Mississippi, at the age of fourteen. Robert Lockwood Jr, born in 1915 in Turkey Scratch, Arkansas, and Steven “Blindlemon" McLean, all join local blues favorite and keeper of the Robert Johnson flame, Rocky Lawrence.
