The Landon Knoblock Realistic Band performs music composed entirely on a 1987 Radio Shack Realistic Concertmate 650 Sampling Keyboard. Blurring the lines between jazz, avant-garde, rock, and ambient, the group invents a new sound that is exciting and organic. Composition and improvisation seamlessly merge, tugging your heartstrings in a sensitive fashion or ruthlessly melting your face. Landon Knoblock
is a creative pianist, an ambitious composer, and an adventurous improviser. Living in Brooklyn, by way of Miami, he has performed with Katie Bull, Matt Wilson, Kevin Mahogany, Kendra Shank, and Antonello Salis. He has also released two albums of original and improvised music, the latest released on CAMjazz to critical acclaim. Knoblock's additional projects include a quartet with esteemed New York trumpeter Ron Horton, a quintet dedicated to the music of Andrew Hill, with saxophonist Oscar Noriega, an improvised music trio with down town veteran Jeff Davis, and an improvisatory duo with Miami based drummer Jason Furman. His groups have performed at Cornelia St. Caf, 55 Bar, Barbes, the Knitting Factory, and the Apollo. Landon Knoblock has also performed at the Young Jazz in Town Festival and the Art Blakey Jazz Club in Italy; the Boston Music Festival, An Die Musik in Baltimore, and Chris' Jazz Cafe in Philadelphia.
