“For John Coltrane, Love Is Supreme" is a tribute of the Kindred Spirits Ensemble to jazz legend John Coltrane. On September 23rd, the saxophonist would have celebrated his 80th birthday. John Coltrane was one of the most important and controversial figures in jazz. The ensemble consists of mainly Dutch musicians. They get their inspiration from the rich history of jazz and play songs by Leon Thomas and Pharaoh Sanders--but also new repertoire by Mos Def and self written compositions.
