KARL BERGER German-born vibraphonist/pianist/composer/arranger Karl Berger is a six-time winner of the Downbeat Critics Poll as a jazz soloist and recipient of numerous Composition Awards. His recordings and - in many cases - duo performances with such legends as Don Cherry, Lee Konitz, John McLaughlin, Dave Brubeck, Dave Holland, Ed Blackwell, Ray Anderson, Pharoah Sanders, and James Blood Ulmer, will forever be cherished. Outside of jazz, he is also noted for his innovative arrangements for recordings by Jeff Buckley (Grace), Natalie Merchant (Ophelia), Better Than Ezra, The Cardigans, Jonatha Brooke, Buckethead, Bootsie Collins, The Swans, Sly + Robbie, and Angelique Kidjo.
