Singer, songwriter, and pianist Jon Regen kicks off Jazz at The Baird on Saturday January 14 in South Orange, NJ. The series of five monthly concerts feature jazz giants, as well as up-and-coming musicians in a small, intimate venue.

Regen has been hailed by The Washington Post as “one of the best young jazz pianists in the world." He worked alongside jazz icon Jimmy Scott, and received critical acclaim for his three CDs as a leader; Jon Regen Trio - Live at The Blue Note, Tel Aviv and Almost Home. In addition, Regen was named runner-up in the Great American Jazz Piano Competition, and chosen as one of only 2,000 pianists worldwide to hold the title of Steinway Artist.

Almost Home, a seven-song EP of all-original material released in 2004, showcased Regen's previously hidden talents as a singer and songwriter. Critics around the globe heralded the new music with unanimous praise; All Music Guide awarded it Four Stars, The Danube Courier dubbed Regen 'the Miracle Child from New York,' and High Bias called the EP a collection of 'solid tunes with instantly-appealing melodies and soulful vocals.'

In late 2005, Regen recorded new tracks with noted producer Bob Mann, (Rod Stewart, James Taylor).
