Jazz legends and rising stars are featured in a new book The Power Of Jazz, by UK-based professional photographer and writer John Watson.

The book has more than 140 color and black and white photographs of artists including Chet Baker, Gil Evans, Sonny Rollins, Hank Jones, Esbjorn Svensson, Herbie Hancock, Dave Holland, Dame Cleo Laine, Jane Monheit, Roberta Gambarini, Sheila Jordan, Branford Marsalis, Joshua Redman and Jan Garbarek.

The entire book can be viewed online here.

The Power Of Jazz includes “impressionist" images of musicians and singers in performance, using in-camera techniques rather than Photoshop effects.

Watson is a regular contributor to Jazz Journal, Britain's longest-established jazz magazine, and his photographs have been used by BBC Publications and in many magazines and newspapers.

The Power Of Jazz is a large-landscape coffee table book printed on premium paper and is exclusively available to buy from blurb.com.
