We are very pleased to announce the official release of two ArtistShare Fan-Funded albums from the Jim Hall: Live! ArtistShare Fan-Funded Project. These albums beautifully demonstrate Jim Hall's enduring genius and influence as an improviser. The Jim Hall Quartet: Live at Birdland was recorded live at Birdland in New York City on November 10-11, 2010. This live album superbly captures the experience of hearing this world-class quartet at the legendary jazz venue. The album features Jim Hall originals “Furnished Flats,” “Big Blues,” and the collaborative composition “Friendly Recollections” co-written by Joey Baron. The quartet also offers interpretations of “St. Thomas,” “Chelsea Bridge,” “All The Things You Are,” and Cavaquinho's “Beija Flor.” A testament to Jim Hall's continuing genius, subtlety, and inspiration as an improviser, this album is an essential addition to Hall's catalog of live recordings.

Additionally, we are pleased to announce the release of Jim Hall: Live, Vol. 2-4. This release features remastered live recordings from Jim Hall's live performances at Bourbon Street in Toronto, Canada on June 11-13, 1975. The rediscovery and subsequent release of these previously unheard recordings will excite everyone interested in Jim Hall's music. These recordings represent some of the best material Jim Hall every recorded, and they offer a unique perspective on how Hall has developed and changed as an improviser over the decades. The recordings feature Hall's original compositions as well as interpretations of various standards. The album presents more than simply the music itself- this release gives the listener a sense of the overall ArtistShare experience as it is packaged in a booklet with photos, historical news articles, detailed historical information about the recordings, and exclusive artist interviews with Jim Hall, Pat Metheny, Nels Cline, Scott Colley, and others.
