The new digital picture books (for viewing on your computer display) by Jeremy Steig feature his drawings and music and are available for download from DL-MARKET, one of Japan's biggest digital content markets. These picture books can be a great way to introduce jazz to children, and also a wonderful opportunity to enjoy Jeremy's art and music with original stories by Asako.

The picture books are sold at the Coffee Break Theater of Jeremy's website. Each digital picture book runs a little less than ten minutes and it is perfect for taking your mind off your problems. Currently, three stories are available, and two more are coming in the near future. Each download is 300 yen, or a little less than 4 US dollars, depending on the exchange rate. Each book is available in both English and Japanese. For a Mac user, installation of an application for running a WMV file (FLIP4MAC etc.) is necessary.

Please visit Jeremy's website for detailed information, including reviews by elementary school kids in Japan who have purchased the picture books.

About Bird Feeder

Bird Feeder is a digital picture book with a jazz soundtrack composed (sometimes improvised) and performed by Jeremy Steig, the famous New York-born jazz flautist. The story is about a misanthrope named Sadie, who likes to feed the birds. But there is a big problem. Enjoy the attractive sets and the moving ending.

When Jeremy was little he learned how to draw by watching his late father cartoonist, William (author of “Shrek!") and his mother who was an oil painter/art teacher. In addtion to his activities as a jazz musician, he has composed soundtracks for short videos based on children's books and tunes used in the TV program Sesame Street.

In Bird Feeder, Jeremy uses both his drawings and music to tell an original story for people of all ages.
