Jazz.FM91 - The Offical Radio Station of the TD Toronto Jazz Festival

Toronto, Ontario (June 24th, 2010) - JAZZ.FM91 is pleased to kick off another summer as the Official Radio Station of the TD Toronto Jazz Festival.

From Friday, June 25th through Friday, July 2nd, we will broadcast live for the 6th consecutive year from the JAZZ.FM91 Broadcast Centre in Nathan Phillips Square. JAZZ.FM91's Larry Green will host an extended edition of “Afternoon Drive", weekdays from 3-8PM. Walter Venafro, Laura Fernandez, Jaymz Bee and Heather Bambrick will also host special editions of “Saturday Afternoon Jazz", “Cafe Latino", “Jazz in the City" and “Sunday Afternoon Jazz" live on Saturday from 12-8PM, and Sunday from 12-5PM.

Special on-site programming will include Festival updates, exclusive artist interviews, and featured tracks from musicians who will be performing at the Festival. The public is also invited to drop by the Broadcast Centre, say hello to the hosts, and visit the Promotions tent to enter to win a compact home stereo system from Kromer Radio.

On Wednesday, June 30th, the Station will present a cheque to the winner of the 2010 Mary Alice Stuart/JAZZ.FM91 Scholarship Award, an annual award given to a student with a promising future in the field of jazz. On Friday, July 2nd, the JAZZ.FM91 Youth Big Band will perform a free noon-hour concert. Both the presentation and the concert will take place on the Toronto Star Stage at Nathan Phillips Square.
