The Dallas-born Washington—who cites Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan as influences—received the prestigious Bill Cosby Presidential Scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, and since then she has been performing in the New England region and up and down the East Cost.
