Jazz Port Townsend, Washingtons largest summer jazz festival turns the Victorian seaport and arts community of Port Townsend into the summer jazz getaway July this weekend.
The festival, headlined by such internationally renowned musicians as Taylor Eigsti, Wycliffe Gordon, Ernie Andrews, Sarah Gazarek, Benny Green, and Ambrose Akinmusire, among others, features jazz in the clubs as well as mainstage shows the evening of July 24 and all day July 25.
The July 24 show features Gretchen Parlato, voice; Gerald Clayton, piano; Joe Sanders, bass; and Justin Brown, drums; in a set entitled Hypnotizing, Hushed and Powerful Vocals. The second set, Moving the Tradition Forward, features Ambrose Akinmusire, trumpet; Gerald Clayton, piano; Joe Sanders, bass; and Justin Brown, drums.
