Ken Ulansey, a Penn Council for the Arts winner, plays alto and soprano sax and clarinet. Some critics have called him a musical chameleon, having played contemporary classical music with Relache, jazz with his own award-winning band, latin with Synthesis and Minas, and folk music with many of the areas leading songwriters. Ulansey has toured extensively in Europe and the States, played on nearly two hundred recordings, and worked in collaboration with dancers, film-makers, poets and story-tellers.

The Cheltenham Jazz Neighborhood Concert Series is sponsored by Jazz Bridge, a nonprofit that assists local jazz and blues musicians in the Greater Philadelphia area, and is partially funded by a grant from the Pennsylvania Council of the Arts in partnership with the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance.
