2,800 people attended “Jammin' on the Hudson" on July 22nd! Additional dates set for August 5th, August 19th and September 3rd.

Riverbank State Park, located at 145th Street between Riverside Drive and the Hudson River, once more, in association with Brownstone Entertainment 2, is pleased to present; the “Jammin' on the Hudson" Concert Series.

The venue for this series of Concert performances has been upgraded! This series will be housed in the newly renovated Amphitheater.

The prospect of listening to great Jazz Music, cast across the Hudson River at sunset, has got to be a great plus - both acoustically, and atmospherically!

We are beginning our Concerts a little later this year; the start time for performances is 6:00 PM, and they will run until 8:00 PM.

This years Jammin' on the Hudson promises to be 'jam-packed' with talent!

“Jammin', a Concert Series for the serious Jazz lover!

On Sunday August 5, 2007 Jammin' is pleased to welcome a very talented vocalist, who has both a totally unique style, and a sense of 'phrasing' which are very rarely heard on todays' Jazz Scene.

Her New York performances are far too few and far between for my tastes, as well as for the tastes of her loyal New York Audience.

She is a New York 'expatriate', who now resides in Massachusetts. A truly 'World Class' Act, whos' talents definitely deserve to be given far wider recognition, than they thus far have, for what she brings to the table.

In April 2007 her latest recording was released; entitled “Dearest Duke", it is a tribute to the music of Ellington & Strayhorn, on the 'Arbors' record label. It is one of the recordings which keep alive the traditions set forth by Ella, Sarah & Carmen.

However, with all that this displays, it is still only a small portion of what her talents truly are; having worked in Clubs & Concert Halls from coast to coast, this seasoned 'Pro.' with her undeniable gifts, promises to be a joy to behold.

Do yourself a favor - check out the very special vocal skills of Ms. Carol Sloane. She will be ably assisted by Norman Simmons and his wonderful Quartet.

On Sunday August 19th “Jammin" welcomes a young man, who is both a 'percussionists', percussionist' and a 'musicians', musician'.
With a great number of “Blue Note" recordings under his belt, as a sideman in the 'sixties', this work fulminated with his own “Blue Note" recording; “Mirrors", on which he led his Quintet.

He has played with a virtual 'who's who' in Jazz, both formerly and in the latter day - from Bobby Hutcherson through McCoy Tyner and then on to Herbie Hancock - his skills are well documented as one of the foremost drummers & percussionists alive and well today.

This very talented gentleman is also a prolific Composer & Arranger, an Educator, as well as a Pianist & Bandleader. His latest recording, on the 'Savant' label, was released in 2006, and is entitled; “The Outlaw".

He will be bringing himself, and His “Outlaw Band" to “Jammin' on The Hudson". We hope to see your face at the place, to both see and hear one of Jazz's unsung heroes: the wonderful, talented Mr. Joe Chambers and His “Outlaw Band"

There will be one more Concert this Summer - on Labor Day - Monday September 3rd, with “The Reunion Legacy Band"! Details about this Concert will be posted soon.
