J&R Music and Computer World's Downtown MusicFest 2007 will showcase an array of artists in City Hall Park, Thursday, August 23 - Saturday, August 25, 2007. This year's MusicFest will be headlined by R&B legend Chaka Khan, Thursday, August 23, at 7pm; Singer/songwriter Suzanne Vega, Friday, August 24, at 7pm; and Bruce Hornsby with Christian McBride and Jack DeJohnette, Saturday, August 25, at 5pm. Other performers taking the stage throughout the three-day concert series will be Israel & The New Breed, Lyfe Jennings, J. Holiday, Eldar, Deborah Cox, Carl Allen & Rodney Whitaker and many others. All performances are free and open to the public.

WBGO Jazz88.3FM and WBGO.ORG will broadcast the climax of the festival on Saturday Afternoon Jazz with Monifa Brown, Saturday Aug. 25 from 2 - 6pm. Brown will host live broadcasts of jazz piano phenom, Eldar (2pm), R&B vocalist Deborah Cox (3pm), drummer Carl Allen and bassist Rodney Whitaker (4pm) and pop pianist Bruce Hornsby with jazz greats Jack DeJohnette and Christian McBride (5pm).

During MusicFest, J&R will also host Tech Expos in its specialty stores. The Tech Expos will be filled with free classes, seminars, and new product demonstrations presented by leading high-tech companies.
