Yehoodi.com presents an exclusive interview with legendary jazz pianist Junior Mance. Junior reminisces about growing up with jazz in Chicago, playing at the Savoy Ballroom, what defines “swing" versus “the blues," and the “100 Magic Fingers" among other topics. JUNIOR MANCE, born Julian Clifford Mance, Jr., in Chicago, Illinois on October 10, 1928 is a jazz pianist, composer, author of How To Play Blues Piano, and recording artist of thirty plus albums as a leader and numerous recordings as a sideman. During his long and distinguished career, Junior has played with such legends as Lester Young, Charlie Parker, Dinah Washington, Joe Williams, Cannonball Adderley, Dizzy Gillespie, Coleman Hawkins, Eddie “Lockjaw" Davis, and Sonny Stitt.
