Jazz isn’t just alive and well in Indianapolis, it’s busting out at the seams! It's a stellar line-up for the Indianapolis Jazz Festival, scheduled for the week of September 19th through the 27th.

Features artists such as Joshua Redman, Claudia Acuña, Branford Marsalis, Kurt Elling, Marcus Miller and a host of others. Spread across town at numerous venues, the week will be capped off by two days on two stages at The Lawn@White River State Park.

Indianapolis has a rich jazz history, being the birthplace of both Wes Montgomery and Freddie Hubbard. The city continues with this tradition with an expanded festival this year with numerous other musicians, groups and venues-and offers something for everyone, jam bands, vocalists and trios, a Freddie Hubbard Tribute Band led by Dr. David Baker and high school jazz bands from around the state.

The Heartland offers the heart of jazz, and in keeping with that mission, a multitude of sponsors, music education teachers and Indianapolis Jazz Foundation have come together to produce a world class event.
