BONNIE BRAMLETT APPEARS IN NEW KEVIN COSTNER FILM

Touchtone Pictures releases action movie “THE GUARDIAN" on September 22, 2006, featuring Kevin Costner, Ashton Kutcher--with Zoho Roots recording artist Bonnie Bramlett in a minor role.

Legendary rock, r&b and soul singer Bonnie Bramlett--who came to international fame in the late 1960s as the female lead vocalist in southern rock/gospel group Delaney and Bonnie--is adding yet another milestone to her fabled career as an actress in “The Guardian," a new action drama featuring Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher. The film has been produced by Touchtone Pictures and will be distributed to theaters through Buena Vista Pictures. U.S. theatrical release date is Friday, September 22, 2006.

Bonnie's role is that of a blues club owner named Maggie, and she is appearing in several scenes with Costner and Kutcher.

In March 2006, Bonnie Bramlett relaunched her career as a singer with the Zoho Roots release Roots, Blues & Jazz (ZMR 200604) to significant critical acclaim; the recording was viewed by many as her strongest record in decades. JazzTimes wrote, “the title of salty survivor Bonnie Bramlett's latest doesn't half describe this hell-for leather collection ... it should be called Roots, Blues Country, Folk, Rock, Gospel, Soul and Just About Every Other Blasted Thing I've Bumped Up Against During a Half-Century of High Times and Hard Knocks.

The equally legendary Ike Turner remembers, “Bonnie was the first white Ikette in the bad old days in the South. I can't believe this is the same voice that once was with Ike & Tina--this is the best I've ever heard her sing--a hit CD. Thanks for [including] two more Ikettes, Jessie Lucas and Robbie Montgomery. This a hell of a team you have here."

New American and European tour dates for Bonnie Bramlett and her extraordinary backing band from Roots, Blues & Jazz, the fantastically versatile Nashville-based Mr Groove Band, are in preparation and will be announced shortly.

Bonnie Bramlett's Roots, Blues & Jazz is distributed in the U.S. and Canada by Allegro Corporation, and has been licensed for European release to Music Avenue BVBA, Belgium, with anticipated release date in November 2006.
