Coming to BET and BET Jazz October 3rd for Hispanic Heritage Month... “In My Father's Shoes; A Son's Tribute To Tito Puente."

Known the world over as EL Rey De Timbale (The King of the Timbales) Tito Puente's legacy rules synonymous with the likes of Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong. This hour long tribute from his heir apparent; Tito Puente Jr. celebrates his father as only a son could.

Tito Jr.takes us on a personal journey through memories of his father on the road as a musician and a celebration of the release of his musical homage, In My Father's Shoes. Using archival footage from The Jazz Channel vault, plus music videos from both father and son, family photos, artist interviews and a vivacious performance on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial; Tito Jr. reflects on his Dad's musical legacy that makes us all want to dance salsa!

Take a closer look at the remarkable man, Tito Puente through Tito Jr.'s intimate interviews on growing up Puente, making the CD, and carrying on the legacy. Also interviews with Dave Valentin, Ralph Mercado, Oscar De Leon, Poncho Sanchez, Tito Rodriguez Jr., Mario “Machito Jr." Grillo, Ray Vega, Louis Bousa, Jimmy Bosch and Bobby Sanabria on Puente Sr's musical legacy and the roles they all play in keeping that legacy alive.
