Last night jazz saxophonist Greg Osby performed at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia with GOV'T MULE. Joining Warren Haynes' newly revitalized Mule for a good chunk of their second set, Osby chimed in on Les McCann's “Compared To What" sung by keyboardist Chuck Leavell (the Rolling Stones pianist for the last ten years, formerly w/ the Allman Bros and Sea Level), an extended exploration of Traffic's 60s classic “Low Spark of High Heeled Boys" and “Mule" one of the band's trademark tunes which ended the second set.

Oz was also featured on the second encore tune, Mongo Santamaria's “Afro-Blue." Reaction from the 2000+ fans was ecstatic. Osby signed autographs outside afterwards and has already received enthusiatic e-mails from Mule Heads via his website, www.gregosby.com

Osby has previously performed with Haynes at the Beacon Theater last fall in Phil Lesh & Friends. Greg Osby's latest release “Symbols of Light (A Solution)" will be out July 31st on Blue Note Records.

Other highlights of the Mule's show included the opening “Bad Little Doggie","Lay Your Burden Down","Fallen Down", the rare “Fire In The Kitchen" and Dave Mason's classic “Feelin' Alright". For complete set lists check out www.mulezone.com

Gov't Mule is currently at work on a new CD featuring 22 different bass players in tribute to their late bassist Allen Woody. Among those to be featured are Phil Lesh, Alphonso Johnson, Jack Bruce, Jack Casady, Chris Squire, Rocco Prestia, Les Claypool and many others.
