Discovered by Dizzy Gillespie in 1985 the Cuban pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba can play Bebop, pop ballads, free modalism or electro-acoustic world music. The featured special guest is the powerful tenor saxophonist David Sanchez who will bring his Afro-Cuban and Coltrane inspired playing to the trio.
Look for a hot week of Afro Cuban Jazz at the Iridium Jazz Club Jan. 7-12.
