George Harrison, referring to his plans to re-release his entire catalog, said in the Summer of 2000, “It's trying to pull all the past that's been accumulated into something new and make it sound like now. Originally [these recordings] were done for vinyl...[It would be desireable to] make a much better digital version of them...so I think to get them all back in the shops niche and crisp and clean and fresh will be good."

this is exactly what Capitol Records has done.

On March 1, 2004 the entire Geroge Harrison Dark Horse Catalog will be re-released, making available six albums which have been unavailable for years as well as a brand new deluxe box set, The Dark Horse Years, 1976-1992, which includes all six albums plus an exclusive DVD, and a case-bound, 36-page booklet containing extensive liner notes, unpublushed photographs, and a history of Dark Horse Records contributed by Olivia Harrison.

Each of the original six albums: thirty-Three and 1/3, George Harrison, Somewhere in England, Gone Troppo, Cloud Nine, and Live in Japan, has been digitally remastered and now contains previously unavailable bonus tracks and 12-page booklets, including lyrics, personal commentary from Mr. Harrison. Live in Japan will be released as a couble SACD hybrid in both stereo and 5.1 surround sound.
