Formerly known as Gene Shimosato and Harvie Swartz, this dynamic duo adds a stellar saxophonist and drummer to the mix to turn out world-class music. Gene Ess moved to New York in 1991, and since then has fronted his own bands and worked with Rashied Ali, Carlos Santana, Ravi Coltrane, Archie Shepp, Eddie Henderson, Yamashita Yosuke, Al Foster and more. Harvie S has played with the best in the industry and continues to challenge himself and his peers in new artistic directions. A producer, bandleader, composer and educator, his credits include gigs with Stan Getz, Pat Metheny, Dexter Gordon, Jim Hall, Michael Brecker, Gil Evans, James Moody and Paquito D’Rivera, just to name a few.
