Grammy-nominated guitarist Mike Stern, a noted solo artist, guitar hero, and veteran of bands such as Miles Davis, Steps Ahead, and The Brecker Brothers, returns to Blues Alley with two of his favorite collaborators: Drummer Dennis Chambers (now spending most of his time with Santana) and bassist Victor Wooten (of Bela Fleck & the Flecktones fame). Rounding out the band is Stern's regular saxophonist, Bob Franceschini.

One cannot underestimate the enthusiastic following for these musicians: For example, last year they sold out an entire week of two-sets-a-night performances at Yoshi's in Oakland, California.

Mike, Vic, and Dennis infrequently play together anymore (due to their busy schedules) -- this is a rare opportunity to hear their powerful -- and very musical -- interplay on stage.

The always-in-demand Chambers -- a resident of Baltimore -- has a brand new CD, OUTBREAK, on the ESC label.

Blues Alley is located at 1073 Wisconsin Ave. NW in Georgetown. Call 202- 337-4141 for tickets, set times, and more information or go to: www.bluesalley.com

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded albums and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, limited reopenings and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary step that will help musicians and venues now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the sticky footer ad). Thank you!
