Join us live on Zoom for a special hour-long free event, featuring live conversation and music with the brilliant American jazz saxophonist, Greg Abate. The event will be hosted by international jazz educator, Alex Steele. Together, they will bring lots of great conversation, reflections on jazz, wonderful music, and lots of opportunities for questions and answers, with a small, intimate audience hosted on Zoom.

Greg Abate came onto the jazz scene in the 1970’s. After studying at Berklee, Greg kicked off an international career, joining the Ray Charles band in the mid 1970’s. From that moment on, Greg has moved onwards and upwards, to a point today, where he is undoubtedly considered to be amongst the finest jazz players of his generation. He’s an incredible player, definitely in the ‘post-hard bop’ tradition, encompassing a classic approach to the material in the style of Charlie Parker, Sonny Stitt, Cannonball Adderley and Phil Woods. He’s a Grammy- nominated recording artist, an adjunct professor of Jazz Studies at Rhode Island College, and lots more!

In this special Zoom session, Alex will be interviewing Greg about his life in jazz. Greg will perform during the session, and Alex will dig deeply into the beautiful things happening inside the magical jazz brain of Greg Abate. We’ll get to learn about what makes Greg tick, his journey so far, what comes next, and how the magic of jazz shows us remarkable ways to live our lives and to be our best selves. It’s going to be a great journey!

We can get a maximum of 100 people at this event on Zoom, so sign up as soon as you can!
