4-DISC LIVE ALBUM RECORDED 40 YEARS AGO TODAY AT CARNEGIE HALL

Forty years ago today on October 11, 1971, Frank Zappa & The Mothers of Invention performed two marathon, full-length shows at New York City's famed Carnegie Hall. This is your ticket directly to the Vault, and to four CDs of the music made then. Fans can now have it for the first time since it was first performed live by FZ with Mark Volman, Howard Kaylan, Ian Underwood, Don Preston, Jim Pons & Aynsley Dunbar. The Zappa Family Trust announced the pre-sale today via their zappa.com website.

Zappa was posthumously inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 and received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997. Frank Zappa, American composer, was born in 1940 and died in 1993.

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
