Five-time Grammy award winning Blues musician Buddy Guy is playing at Elk Creek Vineyards in Owenton, Ky. on May 31st for the first ever 2008 Elk Creek Blues Festival. Also performing are Roomful of Blues and Cincinnati's own Sonny Moorman.

Concert-goers will have the unique opportunity to listen to one of the best blues guitarists while sipping Kentucky's world-class wine. The largest winery in Kentucky and winner of eight medals in the Kentucky Derby Wine Festival, Elk Creek Vineyard has made its mark on the wine industry and will now cross into the music industry as well.

“We are pairing a legend with a thoroughbred in Buddy Guy and Elk Creek Vineyards. This event will be a great way to kick-off the summer concert season, and we want to provide people with an alternative to the traditional venue by hosting this festival," notes Curtis Sigretto, owner of Elk Creek Vineyards.

The winery is located in Owenton, Ky., about an hour from Louisville, Lexington and Cincinnati. Tickets are sold online at elkcreekvineyards.com, and prices start at $30. Hotel packages will be available soon.

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded albums and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, limited reopenings and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary step that will help musicians and venues now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the sticky footer ad). Thank you!
