There's a little something extra when you go to Ryles Jazz Club's Sunday brunch August 3rd. There'll be the usual fabulous food and friendly service. There will also be available for sale for the first time, live anywhere the new CD release of the band, Patricia Adams [vocals], Ray Santisi [music director and piano], Greg Loughman [bass] and Gary Johnson [drums]. Nine standards of Tin Pan Alley and Harlem renaissance capture this group's journey, entitled First Sundays.

Patricia Adams started out with the Ryles Sunday jazz brunch gig in late 2004. She had called Ray Santisi [music director and piano] in the past and this time he was available. In 2006, they were joined by Greg Loughman [bass] and Gary Johnson [drums]. Although there has been no budget for rehearsals, this quartet has enjoyed consistent standing-room-only audiences at this very popular brunch. With a repertoire of not always so standard standards, Ray Santisi created the arrangements and medleys. The group contracted with Ryles' sound engineer, James 'Kamal' Jones to mic each instrument and adjust monitors for best band communication. During the March and April brunches, James recorded the band through his laptop. What production lacks in studio quality it makes up for in the energy captured and Jones' skillful editing, not to mention budget! To cap off this local effort, John Harrison showed up with his camera for the March recording and became the default art director extroidinaire! Harrison works at the Days Hotel in Boston which hosts Adams when she comes to town.

“This project costs a third of my last studio project", says Adams. “It makes it more affordable for the whole band to participate." First Sundays is available at Ryles Jazz Club on first Sundays when Patricia Adams and the Ray Santisi Trio play the brunch. This CD is in the queue with CDBaby and Amazon and shortly, all tunes will be available on iTunes, Rhapsody, Napster, MusicNet to name a few of the 50+ digital distributors.

“These are my favorite vocals right now", beams Adams. “Almost all of them were suggested by Ray Santisi. Working with this trio is a real privilege." Synergy.

You can pick up a copy of First Sundays from Adams and her group August 3rd when they play Ryles Jazz Club's brunch.
