In February of 2020, after being recognized as one of the winners of the Global Blog Awards 2019, Fernando Rodríguez de Mondesert released his first book Jazz en Dominicana: The Interviews 2019 as part of the awards received from Ukyoto Publishing Co.

During the year 2020, Ukiyoto Publishing continued to monitor Rodríguez De Mondesert, and seeing that his publications on the Jazz en Dominicana blog met the criteria of content, creativity, uniqueness, originality and focus, they invited him to submit a second title, resulting in: Women in jazz… in the Dominican Republic.

Fernando comments: Women have always been an important part of jazz, although their achievements have often not received the same recognition as that of their male colleagues. They have contributed enormously in all styles and in all eras of jazz history. The same has happened and continues to occur in the Dominican Republic, reason behind this new book; which opens a window to “see" the women who have been, are and will be part of the jazz scene in the country.

Rodríguez De Mondesert continues: The publication aims to highlight the contribution of women to our jazz. It is a tribute, an opportunity to meet some of the contemporary proposals of women who have given their talents, their music; who have shared their souls and hearts with the public; that have trodden and opened the way for others that have followed them. I dedicate this effort to them.

Just like the first book, this one is published in Spanish and English, it is also integrated with Augmented Reality so that readers can enjoy the wonderful music of these women while reading about them.

Women in jazz… in the Dominican Republic is available on the Amazon internet store in two formats, Paperback and Kindle.
