This Monday, June 13th the Moodswing Series kicks off at Freddy's Bar and Backroom. Stop by if you can. The series is a monthly jazz-experimental performance that I will present. We'll start things off as a hang to develop the group and new original material. The goal is to try all sorts of stuff and see what comes out.
This Monday, I'll be there with Anders Nilsson-g, Ken Filiano-b and Michael TA Thompson-d from 9:00 - 11:00 PM.
Freddy's Bar and Backroom is located at 485 Dean Street between Flatbush and 6th Avenues. There is no cover. Transportation to Freddy's is excellent - you can take the 2/3 to Bergen Street (Freddy's is around the corner) or take any train going to The Atlantic Avenue station (2,3,4,5,Q) or to Pacific Street (M,N,R,W). I'll also be playing out with others. I'll be at Zebulon on the 26th of June. And finally on June 24th, I will be appearing at the Bowery Poetry Club with the wonderful Gary Lucas, a new venture I am very enthusiastic about. www.garylucas.com
