FAMILY GROOVE COMPANY ANNOUNCES WINTER TOUR 2009
Bassist Janis Wallin to Tour with Steve Kimock

Family Groove Company

Arms in Music and Family Groove Company are proud to announce the Chicago quartet's 2009 Winter Tour. After a swing through the Southeast, the tour will see FGC make headlining appearances in major markets throughout the Midwest, before heading to Colorado for dates in Denver and Boulder among others.

FGC will hit some of the band's favorite venues over the course of this ambitious tour, including Park West in Chicago (for a co-headlining appearance with Soulive), the Majestic Theatre in Madison, The Bottleneck in Lawrence, and Cabooze in Minneapolis. FGC will also make several noteworthy debut appearances in a number of prestigious venues, including The WorkPlay in Birmingham, Rhythm and Brews in Chattanooga, Vogue Nightclub in Indianapolis, and The Fox Theatre in Boulder.

The tour will begin on January 27 in Birmingham and wrap up at the end of March, at which point FGC will take several weeks off the road while bassist Janis Wallin tours as bass player for Steve Kimock's new band, Steve Kimock Crazy Engine. FGC has made the following statement:

“We are extremely happy for our bassist and dear friend Janis. We've met and performed with numerous world-class musicians over the years, and we knew it was only a matter of time before one of them took note of Janis's extraordinary talent and invited her to share it with a new audience. The Kimocks have been very gracious and accommodating of FGC's tour schedule, and we look forward to announcing plans for our spring and summer tours shortly. In the meantime, we'd like to say we're tremendously proud of Janis, and all four of us are geared up for a fantastic Winter Tour."

FGC will tour in support of two 2008 album releases - Live in Chicago, and Models and Metrics.
