I've now worked with Eva on two of her previous recordings, and I can say with great assuredness that she sounds like no one else. Everything about Eva’s sound is purely individual.

TRRC Presents Eva Cortés Todas las Voces July 17th Debut Release with All-Star Band! Featuring: Christian McBride, Elio Villafranca, Eric Harland, Doug Beavers, Luisito Quintero, Román Filiú and Luques Curtis!

“My music is nothing but a reflection of what my life has been." Honduran/Spanish singer, songwriter and composer Eva Cortés delivers a revelatory set of flamenco and blues-tinged Latin jazz on her newest record, Todas las Voces. Working for the second time with producer, arranger and trombonist Doug Beavers (Eddie Palmieri, Spanish Harlem Orchestra), Cortés has brought aboard a flight of top-shelf New York musicians for the date, including Christian McBride, Eric Harland, Elio Villafranca, Luisito Quintero, Roman Filiu and Luques Curtis. Weaving together a tapestry of captivating, original compositions and popular Latin American mainstays, Eva Cortés also adds a social footnote by dedicating the song “Desterado/Exiled" to the actual immigrant crisis not only at the Southern border of the U.S. but also as a lover the world.

“I’ve now worked with Eva on two of her previous recordings, and I can say with great assuredness that she sounds like no one else. Everything about Eva’s sound is purely individual. Perhaps most impressive is that she understands who she is, she understands her sound, and she embraces it. I’ve always felt that true individuality is realizing who you are and embracing it. She’s never tried to sound like anyone else. She’s developed a strong beautiful sound that keeps on developing in ways that are incredible. I really enjoy working with her. You are sure to enjoy Todas Las Voces immensely."

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded albums and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, limited reopenings and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary step that will help musicians and venues now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the sticky footer ad). Thank you!
