The electric quartet led by Enzo Favata with Pasquale Mirra, Rosa Brunello and Marco Frattini, mixing jazz, electronic elements and different influences from all over the world.
Enzo Favata The Crossing, is one of the most active ensemble on both Italian and international scene, with Pasquale Mirra on vibraphone and midi marimba, Rosa Brunello on bass, Marco Frattini on drums, as well as Enzo Favata, winds, electronics, keyboards and arrangements.

The album, a journey through contemporary jazz's various souls, traditions and sounds, is available today.

The Crossing is a collection of both original songs arranged from live recordings, with special guests features and new arrangements, which keeps the energy of the original recordings unaltered, both tracks such as “Roots," by Ian Carr's Nucleus, classic of the Canterbury school and jazz rock, and then again “All Names" by Japanese composer Jun Miyake or “For Turiya," a song written by Charlie Haden dedicated to Alice Coltrane.

“Salt Way," the song from the video, is an original track written by Enzo Favata which brings back memories and travels in Ethiopia, along the salt road of Danakil, touching experiences of meeting and comparison with local musicians nonetheless their unique ways of approaching scales and rhythms. A passionate approach and respect for the musician who loves to travel between cultures dialoguing with them.

The video by Massimo Dasara is the fruit of collaboration between the two Sardinian artists, in search of the perfect symbiosis between sensory and music and video, the latter elaborated live, “played" in the literal sense of the term. As the video maker likes to remember: “The common thread between the two universes is the psychedelic vision of the live performance, intended as the psyche's journeys through the senses". In this video, through compositing techniques, chroma key, animation and of course on caravan-like suggestions of the images of the salt road, the atmospheres and suggestions of the concerts are recreated.

The CD version is available from August 2nd via Bandcamp and then will be distributed worldwide via Goodfellas.
