New York, NY -- Empirical is a London based jazz quartet that offers a combination of post bop and a spacey vibe for a cool groove that transcends time.

Out 'n' In is a tribute to legendary jazz alto saxophonist, flautist, and bass clarinetist Eric Dolphy (1928-1964). Dolphy was one of the cornerstones of the avant-garde movement in jazz and a hero of the Empirical band members.

“Graceful, dynamic and subtle...a daring maturity" --Jazzwise

Every member of the band adds their own musical stamp allowing the band to take many different roads while not allowing for any pigeonholing by critics. Nathaniel Facey (alto saxophone), Lewis Wright (vibraphone), Tom Falmer (double bass), Shaney Forbes (drums), and special guests Julian Siegel (bass clarinet/tenor saxophone), round out the band with their unique sound and stunningly fresh approach. They seamlessly mold elements of classical, African and Cuban musical formations into a true jazz world melting pot that has the ability to draw an amazing cross pollination of listeners from the jazz idiom.

The eleven tracks on the recording are sure to entice listeners, critics and radio jocks in one rapid divergence of positive energy and feedback. Out 'n' In provokes curious minds and satisfies discriminating jazz aficionados all in one master stroke of musical intensity.

Out 'n' In will be released in a Digipack format by Nalm Jazz and be available at Amazon.com and iTunes. Visit the Empirical website for more information and updates.
