Taylor has assembled an all-star band for this event, including Tom Lawton
on piano, drummer Craig McIver
, saxophonist Bobby Zankel
, trumpeter Bob Meashey
and trombonist Steve Tirpak
, as well as the legendary Coryell.
A part of the evening’s festivities will be Jazz Bridge’s annual Making a Difference Award ceremony, presented this year to Lovett Hines from the Philadelphia Clef Club of the Performing Arts. Hines will receive the award, which comes with a $250 prize, in recognition of his exemplary devotion to teaching generations of jazz players who are now—or will shortly become—stars of the jazz world.
