The Dmitry Ishenko Trio is making its Boston debut at the Zeitgeist Gallery in Cambridge, MA on April 21-22, 2004. The trio features bassist Ishenko, soprano saxophone giant Steve Lacy, as well as guitarist Geoffrey Miller. Featuring compositions by Lacy, Monk, and Ishenko, the group's sound is chamber-like and intricate, yet also agressive and angular at the same time. This is the first time that Steve Lacy appears with this kind of instrumental lineup, and the shows are guaranteed to be a great musical experience full of surprises. Zeitgeist Gallery (617-876-6060) is located at 1353 Cambridge Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The shows take place on Wednesday, April 21 and Thursday, April 22; both nights will feature two sets by the trio, starting at 8 PM and 10 PM, respectively. Tickets can be purchased at the door on the nights of the performances for $10.
