Recently a service for musicians was opened. The service is called Disc Shelf and allows musicians to upload their music and present it to their listeners in form of albums: singles, EPs, LPs, promo discs and WIPs (work in progress). Each album receives a unique URL for distribution.

The whole idea of the project is to have works online that would have no ratings, comments, no weird menus and without it looking like a web page. Instead, it looks more like a virtual compact disc. The musician or his designer are able to upload the cover art, design the booklet and customize all the colors. At the same time the service is not bloated with unnecessary features and is very easy to use.

It is important to note that Disc Shelf is a service aimed at musicians of any style. The site is still very young and Disc Shelf team would love to see jazz music strongly represented in the catalogue.

Please, feel free to visit Disc Shelf at http://www.disc-shelf.com and try it out.
