Denise Donatelli comes to San Diego's Dizzy's Sun Jan 11th, her CD Release Event for What Lies Within featuring Denise Donatelli vocals, Geoffrey Keezer piano, guitarist Peter Sprague, Duncan Moore drums, Hamilton Price bass, & special guest saxophonist Bob Sheppard.

Denise continues to win audiences, performing at some of the city's leading jazz venues and jazz festivals throughout the country. She has performed with a long list of jazz luminaries and has been featured with the Stan Kenton Alumni Orchestra

Denise's latest recording, What Lies Within, was released on Savant Records label, produced and arranged by pianist, composer/arranger, Geoffrey Keezer. Denise is joined by internationally acclaimed musicians including, Marvin Smitty Smith, Hamilton Price, Peter Sprague, Bob Sheppard, Alex Acuna, Carl Saunders, and Giovanna Clayton. What Lies Within is creating a stir not just in the microcosm of female vocalists but in the macrocosm of jazz in toto.

Within the vast sea of current female jazz vocalists, Denise Donatelli clearly rises to the top. Shes the real deal, and in my mind she ranks in the very upper echelon of modern vocal artists. With her perfect pitch, impeccable jazz timing and phrasing, wonderful repertoire, stellar all-star band, and with great production and arrangements by Geoff Keezer it's hard to find something not to like about this release!
Dr. Brad Stone, Music Director KSJS-FM

She is a singer jazz musicians love to love ... She produced a classic example of communicative jazz ballad singing.
Don Heckman, Los Angeles Times

Denise Donatelli possesses that rare combination sensuous tone, impeccable pitch and great jazz sensibility. She is truly an awesome jazz vocalist!!
Tom Scott

Dizzy's events are currently being held in the “event room" of the San Diego Wine & Culinary Center, located on the ground floor of the Harbor Club Towers @ 2nd Ave & J Street/3rd Avenue & K Street. Its entrance is actually on the back side of the buildings - on the Martin Luther King Jr. Promenade - facing the Convention Center.

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
